Cyprus Green Heights Park

Green Heights Park, which began operating in September 2007, has the fist and real botanic gardens in Cyprus. With the rich and divers facilities it offers to its guests, such as its restaurant, pool, bird cages and animal shelters, Green Heights Park is the ideal place to spend a peaceful, comfortable and enjoyable day.

Green Heights Park is the product of the greatness of nature and love for the country and people that Mustafa Emin Aga is saturated in.

This park, which was the brainchild of Mustafa EMin Aga who first had the idea of creating a private garden over 7,5 donums of land, contains many local plant and tree species and is enriched with other species from turkey as well as species from various other countries.

This heavenly place which took 11-12 years of effort to create was awarded first prize from among 137 gardens in the April issue of Garden Magazine in 2006. Mustafa who is justifiably experiencing pride because of this says, ‘The beauty in creases as it is shared’ and with this idea has decided to expand the establishment and the facilities further and unite it with the community.

It was with this idea that this ideal retreat and tranquil place was created within the botanic gardens, café, resting places, swimming pool, water therapy pool, children’s pool and zoo. Handicapped guests have also been taken into account here. They decided to add an elevator system to allow them to take advantage of the water therapy pool. This has become another indication of the modern operations and the value given to people at Green Heights Park.

A small closed area with a fireplace catering for 45-50 people has been created in the garden for those who wish to take advantage of the beauty of the area in the winter season.

The winter retreat has been completely enclosed with glass so as not to deprive guests of the beauty of the outdoors while sitting inside.

After opening for service, Green Heights Park became a place not only regularly frequented by locals and tourists, but also by resident Britons, Germans and even Scandinavians. Director of the park Ä°pek Yoney, is extremely satisfied with its customer profile. ‘Foreigners who have their own homes and reside on the island are steadily finding their way here, and when their friends or guests come here it is the first place that they bring them to visit,’ says Ä°pek, who explains the working principles of the establishment: ‘We work long hours and at an intense pace. We are greatly proud of the fact that every one of our guests always leaves here contented and with good memories. Our main strategy is to provide quality service, always with a smile. We make no concessions on these principles. Our visiting guests are extremely happy. At first we began to introduce the establishment to our closest acquaintances, because they like it so much they became our representatives and eventually passed on the word to their circle of friends, and in due course we came to the position we are at today. Because of the great demand, unfortunately we can’t accept ant reservations for the weekends.

We try to instil the love of gardens and the green to children that come here. Because of this there are even people who bring nursery school children here on school trips. The visiting children see, love and take a liking to the green environment. When these children become adults in the future, as more knowledgeable and environmentally friendly people, they will serve the public accordingly.

Everything has been thought of the cater for those who want to come to Green Heights Park and enjoy a wonderful day as a family from the early hours of the morning up until the evening. A synthesis of a Turkish and a Cypriot breakfast has been created; the traditional English breakfast is also available. Also two different types of lunches are prepared. The first are foods of a light snack type; the second is a choice of food from a menu of full type meals. These include various pastas, grills and starters. One of the most renowned deserts of the desert menu we have here is the carrot cake parfe. You can find a different taste in the parfe easch time you come here. A choice of chocolate basil, fruit, caramel or coffee is available. Those who come here leave happy after spending an amazing day in tranquil surroundings. Adults who eat their meals here are charged half price for use of the pool with no charge for their children.

A special area has been created for children on Thursday and Sundays. Rabbits and ducks are set free in this area for the children to enjoy. Table tennis and darts are among some of the activities that are offered to guests free of charge. Sleeping facilities in the form of hammocks are also available for tired guests or small babies.
